Maximize the Potential- Part Deux!!
Welcome back! As promised, here is the second way you can help your hair along towards the goal of optimal health, maximizing the potential for growth.
Keep Your Hair & Scalp Clean!

Self explanatory, right? For one, dirty, funky hair is not the move! 0_0 More importantly, a healthy, clean environment is needed for hair to thrive. Buildup on the scalp can virtually stunt growth simply because of dirty, clogged pores/follicles. There’s no hard & fast rule on how often one should cleanse their hair and scalp. Your routine may differ from another based on things like how much product you use, how much you sweat (for you active ladies), etc. Your hair will usually tell you when it’s time.
See my Tuesday’s Tips for further suggestions on Wash Day and Clarifying.
‘Til tomorrow curlies!! Smooches.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is also a great natural option! Recipes for this treatment vary throughout the natural hair community. I like to use an 8 oz applicator bottle (with numbered indicators), filling it with 2-3 oz of ACV and the rest with water. If I’m felling fancy, I’ll add a few drops of Rosemary or Tea Tree essential oil. {Rosemary assists in the removal of dandruff, stimulates growth and gives that nasty buildup a big ole karate chop! Tee Tree Oil aids in treating scalp conditions and is quite soothing, leaving the scalp refreshed.} Massage it in, let it sit a few minutes and rinse well with cool water. The ACV not only removes buildup but, when used as a final rinse, will close the hair cuticle giving you smoother, shinier hair and will help balance the pH of the hair and scalp. BE CAREFUL when applying- get this stuff in your eyes and it WILL burn! The smell may linger when wet but will be a distant memory once the hair dries.
